    What is Child Find?

Ennis ISD provides special education services for students with disabilities, ages 3-21, who have a need for specially designed instruction. Identification of children with disabilities begins at birth. Ennis ISD is actively involved with “child find” efforts to ensure that children with learning challenges have access to evaluations and services, when appropriate. Parents who have concerns about their child’s development or academic performance may call the Coordinator of Special Education (972-872-7040) click here to view Child Find Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for more information.

Who can begin the Child Find process?

A parent or legal guardian can call Ennis ISD Special Education Department, 972-872-7040, with any questions or concerns.

Why should we ask for a Child Find meeting?

Early identification can prevent failure and frustration. Special attention to teaching and learning strategies may help individuals overcome barriers to learning. If a disability is not found, other resources may be available to help.
