The mission of the Human Resources Department is to provide efficient and courteous HR services to attract, hire, develop, and retain exemplary staff. Our mission is to ensure the success of students by serving the needs of the employees.
Goals

Effective and Efficient:
The EISD Human Resources Department will continue development of a paperless and seamless employee onboarding process in an effort to maintain efficient procedures to maximize time and effort.
Safety:
The Human Resources Department will continue to ensure that criminal history checks are completed and approved prior to any employee, substitute, teacher, volunteer, observer, student-teacher or contractor enter each campus for the safety of EISD students and staff.
Academic:
The Human Resources Department will continue to ensure that EISD hires and maintains at 100% fully certified and highly qualified teachers and instructional aides in all core academic subject areas including English, Reading or Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Foreign Languages (languages other than English), Civics and Government, Economics, Arts, History, and Geography.
- Elementary Procedure: All new hire teachers must have an ESL certification.
- Secondary Procedure: All secondary English Language Arts and Special Education (self-contained) teachers must have ESL certification.
- Elementary Behavior Room Certification Requirements: All elementary teachers assigned to the campus behavior classroom must have Special Education EC-12 certification. Newly hired Elementary Behavior teachers must have a Special Education (EC-12), ESL Certification to receive a teaching contract.
- Special Education Life Skills Requirements: All Special Education teachers in a Life Skills classroom must have a SPED (EC-12), and an ESL Certification.
