Ennis ISD Superintendent, Jay Tullos has informed the Board of Trustees that he will be retiring as of June 30, 2025. Mr. Tullos is in his 32^nd year in education and his 6^th year in serving as superintendent of Ennis ISD.

Trustees have begun the search for the next leader of Ennis ISD, with assistance from Impact Education Specialists. The goal is to name a Lone Finalist in April, with an official start date in early June.  For more information concerning the position, please use the link below.

Jay Tullos is in his 32nd year in public education. Mr. Tullos served as a teacher, coach, testing coordinator, and K-12 principal before stepping into the role of superintendent of Douglass ISD in 2006. 

Before coming to Ennis ISD, Mr. Tullos served as superintendent of Canton ISD since 2009.  He earned his Bachelor's degree from Sam Houston State University in 1993.  Mr. Tullos also holds a Master's Degree in Education from Stephen F. Austin State University.

Mr. Tullos and his wife Amy, who is an EISD 3rd grade teacher at Austin Elementary, have two grown children, Grant and Mattie.
