Experience and Philosophy:
Prior to becoming an educator, I worked in the financial services sector for eight years. I then taught kindergarten, 4th grade, and middle school English, ESL, and was a reading interventionist. I spent my first two years in Ennis ISD as an instructional coach, after which I became an assistant principal at EHS. I have coordinated ESL and AVID at the site levels, and am currently the district director for Ennis ISD's AVID program.
My educational philosophy is that, in order to support all learners, we must cultivate and maintain both positive relationships and classroom and school cultures that are supportive of instructional risk-taking and reciprocal learning. When we embrace the continual cycle of growth, we model for our students what lifelong learning looks like.
I am a native Minnesotan who has found my forever home here in Texas. I live with my husband, Chris, and our two dogs; in my free time, I enjoy reading, cooking, and working out.
