    Philosophy of Education:

I’ve had many conversations with students in my office. When we discuss their future, I at times catch them off guard with a particular statement.

“I bet I can tell you what you want to be when you grow up.”
Their responses are almost always the same, “Yeah right, tell me…”
I answer, “You want to be happy.”

I’m not sure when I started using that dialogue with students, but it has led me to my philosophy of education. I believe education is a means to achieve happiness through success.

We are in the business of developing children to be hard workers, determined, and to do what is right. The standards and measures by which we have taught have changed vastly from past to present. However; there is one constant and that is children. It is through the education system where a child is guided to become a positive contributor to our society. With an education, their future success rises.

It has been said, “Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today.” As educators, we serve as the compass guiding each child. With an education children are given the ability to take steps toward their future both academically and socially. Ultimately, an education is the vessel to their lifelong happiness.

    Family:

I have been married 22 years to Dena Rendon, a Dyslexia Therapist in Ennis ISD.  We have been blessed with 3 beautiful children. Our daughter, Lexi, is a 2017 graduate of EHS and currently a Sophomore at Texas Tech. Logan is a Junior at EHS and a member of our tennis team. Reece, a 7th grader at Ennis Jr High, plays football.  As you can see, our family is very active.  We attend The Avenue Church--Ennis Campus.  We enjoy our family time and working out at CrossFit Ellis and Lone Star Fitness.
