I believe that education is the gateway to success for our students. We must teach them that learning is a path that does not end, that community involvement makes them and the community stronger and that respect, loyalty, and ethics are keys to a better self. I believe that working together with students, parents, teachers and the community provides the best educational environment for our students. Helping students achieve excellence comes from all stakeholders communicating and working toward the same goal.

The 2022-2023 School Year is the beginning of my 35th year with EISD. I began my career as a paraprofessional assigned to special education at the junior high. I then taught for 7 years at Bowie and went to Ennis Intermediate when it opened in the fall of 1997 as an Assistant Principal. I became a principal in the fall of 1999. I attend The Avenue Church, and I'm on the board of the Boys and Girls Club of Ennis. I'm married to Lonnie Redning who is beginning his 27th year in EISD as a teacher and coach. I have three children and five grandchildren. I'm very excited about serving Houston Elementary. I can't imagine working in another district. I'm so proud to call Ennis my hometown.
