Teacher, KindergartenPhilosophy of Education:
All my life I have loved children. I enjoyed being a classroom teacher in kindergarten and 3rd grade. I also have enjoyed being a principal because I am now in a position to help all children. I am a true advocate for children no matter who they are or what their unique needs might be. I will do whatever it takes to help teachers have what they need to provide quality instruction for their students. I do what it takes to nurture the whole child because every child deserves to be educated in a positive, kid-friendly environment that allows them to each grow leaps and bounds through academic skills, maturity, self esteem, and confidence. Balance, to me, is key in everything we do and everything we try to build in children. A strong, balanced foundation makes for more productive citizens.
Family:
Although I am single, I feel like I have had the wonderful opportunity to mother a lot of people in my life. I enjoy nurturing and being a regular part of life for my two nieces and nephew and their four children. As the leader at Crockett Early Childhood Center, I’m also often a mother figure for over 400 children each year, and for the Crockett staff when they have a need. When I have time away from school responsibilities, I love to travel and spend time with family and friends.
